No Challenges today

I have done so many challenges lately that it was time to just sit down and do some cards for the hell of it. So here you are. I finally got a chance to make a couple of cards with my new Stampin' Up stamps. Organic Outlines is a great set. I just love them. I would normally try and stick to just SU products but I have no glitter embossing powder so the For You card has been embossed with Gel-a-tins Gelly powder. I love the stuff. Can't wait to get my Stampin' Up gold embossing powder. Crossing my fingers for tomorrow. I used the Urban Garden DSP. It is such a lovely pack. I love the colours.

For the trendy trees card I used the Good Morning Sunshine DSP. That too is just funky and so bright (but the colours I used was just the Choc Chip).

A very plain card but I still like it a lot.

Okay enough waffling from me.

Stampin' Up has a new special from tomorrow 1st of May. Buy three Designer Series paper for $16.95 and get another Free. What a great offer. Means you can stock up on all your DSP and it will be a saving of $16.95. If you are interested in getting some DSP please contact me on my email -- booyagirl@optusnet.com.au . This offer runs out on the 31st of May so get your order in now so you don't miss out.

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenges - That's Torn It

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenges - That's Torn It.
This is my second ATC challenge. I toiled over the last one and couldn't come up with a red and white ATC so I was thrilled I could come up with something for this one. Here is my Gorjuss Girl relaxing on her little rug. Hope you like.

products: Gorjuss Girls stamp by Sugar Nellie; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Touch markers; Bazzill card; SU Whisper white card; Sassafras Lass paper; SU In the stars set (sentiment);Dimensional dots; snail.

A Spoon Full of Sugar

Blue and Green is the Challenge this week at A Spoon Full of Sugar. I really enjoyed doing this one. I really don't use a lot of blue and this My Minds Eye paper was begging to be used with my Gorjuss Girl. So here it is. LOL.

Inside of card.

Still feeling off today. I can't breathe thru my nose which is annoying and Ashley & Lachlan are pretty much the same. I hope we all get better but I am betting that Lachlan won't be able to go to daycare tomorrow. I am crossing my fingers that he doesn't have a green nose tomorrow.

Nothing else going on here. It is sunny here for once but unfortunately it is still so cold outside. No playing outside for the kids again. I am sick of cleaning mud off the boys hands. I have a feeling that is why Lachlan has a cold. LOL.
Have a good one

Papertake Weekly & Sketch and Stash Challenges

I have combined Papertake Weekly Challenge & Sketch and Stash Challenge.
The Papertake Weekly Challenge is Spots and Stripes. I loved doing this challenge as I have had the striped paper for so long and believe it or not I don't even know who it is by. The sticker on the back of the paper doesn't have a brand on it. Sorry. The spotted paper is American Crafts.
The sketch for Sketch and Stash is above. A very simple sketch but still very fun to do.

As you can see I used my new Magnolia Chasing Butterflies stamp. So loving it. It is so cute. I have 2 more that are just begging to be used but not yet. I still have my Gorjuss girls to do too. Hmmm so many stamps and so little time. LOL. In good time I am sure.

Not much going on here. My kids and I are all still sick - especially my little miss. I hate it when they are sick - and of course, when I am sick too. Really should be getting to bed now but I have a few things I need to do even though I am sick.

Okay take care

Karma Award

I feel so blessed to have found so many people who think my blog is inspirational. Even though I recevied this award just recently I will post again as I received it from the talented and beautiful Sue . Thanks so much Sue. Pop on over to Sue's blog and check out her fantastic creations. I find it absolutely astounding that you feel this way. *big cuddly hugs*

Stamp with Fun Challenge 4

Stamp with Fun have a great sketch this week - see right. Gosh I don't know how I made cards without following a sketch. I am having so much fun with them all. I am sooooooo glad I found the blogging world but if it weren't for all your beautiful creations I wouldn't have got addicted to all the beautiful stamps out there. I didn't know about any of them until I started blogging. LOL. I made this card with a friends little girl in mind. She is turning 2 soon and she wanted me to make a couple of cards for her twins. I am yet to find a suitable image for a boy card. Will have to get myself some Edwin's maybe. Anyone want to give one away. LOL. Just kidding.

Even though I am feeling pretty awful with this cold and vowed that I wouldn't make any cards last night I couldn't help myself. I bought some new papers at Spotlight (anyone who is not in Oz won't know who they are but they are a huge craft/homewares store). I couldn't help myself when I saw them. They are by Grant Archival. So cute. I am now looking for some more papers to use with my Gorjuss Girls - I think the papers I have are just not suitable to use with the images. Just me though.

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments on my cards. When I started my blog I only did it to showcase my Stampin' Up cards but found all the other stamps as well so you have all seen the finished product. LOL. I think this post is long enough already.

Hope you all have a great day. It is awful and looks like it is going to rain here again in Melbourne - but we need it so I am not going to complain.

Friday Sketchers Challenge - Gorjuss Girls

Okay here is my card for Friday Sketchers . I like the sketch but I am just not feeling very creative at the moment. So I did it exactly how the sketch is with no improv at all. LOL. Sorry to disappoint. On a good note I got my Gorjuss Girls set 2 from Funky Kits.
So happy they arrived but I am suffering from a bad cold so I am feeling a bit blah and just have no energy - hence the lack of creativity.
_______________________________________________________

Just thought I would show you the big bag/envelope that I created to hold the door prize for my workshop yesterday. I made it myself - no template or anything. Am very happy with the way it turned out and everyone was suitably impressed with my handy work. I used the Organic Outlines set on Rose Red card with SU jewel brads - the ribbon is not SU but I had no twine so I had to use it. The sentiment is from the Wow Flowers set.

BasicGrey challenge 32 - Christine's sketch

Yes four posts in one day. Can you believe it. LOL.
As the title says - BasicGrey Challenge - Christine's sketch. Loved this sketch. It was great to follow and look no pink. LOL. I used BasicGrey Mellow paper. I love this paper and really hadn't had a chance to use it so I am thankful that I have found this wonderful challenge blog that I can use all my gorgeous BasicGrey papers on.

I just got home from my friends surprise party - and yes she was very surprised. It was nice to catch up and see her family too as I haven't seen most of them for a very long time. She loved the card I made for her which I am thrilled at and her sister bought two of my cards from me - even better. LOL. Gotta love that other people think I make such beautiful creations that they want to buy them from me. Thanks.

My workshop demonstrations

I know I know. The third post for the day and it isn't even lunch time. LOL. I forgot to show you all my scrapbooking layout and card I am going to demo tomorrow.

I so love the way the LO ended up. I was stressing and now it is a load off. It is very simple but I believe if you are gonna demo something - especially on my first workshop it has to be something everyone can do. In hindsight I should have done a dotted background on the 12x12 card but this will do for now. Will have to tweek more when I do another workshop.

Do you like the card....??? Can anyone tell me where I cased this from. LOL. I just noticed when I uploaded the photo that I didn't cut around the sentiment very straight. Good thing it is just my practice card. Hope you like - I love love love the Fifth Avenue Floral stamps. They are so great. So needed to get myself some heat and stick powder and some gold glitter. Hmmmm...!!!!! LOL.

Of course all products used are Stampin' Up.

LO: Garden Whimsy & Eastern Blooms stamp sets; Baja Breeze Textured 12x12 cardstock; Perfect Plum, Tangarine Tango, Whisper White & Kiwi Kiss card; Whisper White,Tangarine Tango, Baja Breeze, Rose Red & Real Red ink; snail.

Just Magnolia Week 2 - Pink & Green

Just Magnolia Challenge Week 2 - Pink & Green
Talk about being out of my comfort zone. I found this one really hard. I am very into using pink - it is my favorite colour but using it with green was really hard. But here it is - not too happy with the result but it is all good.
The inside of the card isn't too crash hot either. Grrrr...!!!! Just not really satisfied. Hope you have fun with the challenge.

It has been a slow day and I think I have everything organized for my workshop tomorrow - at least I think I have. Time to relax although I am so tempted to make another card. LOL. Just can't help myself. Nah I think I have to make a little baggy for the door prize for the workshop.

Enjoy.

Recipe:SU Pretty In Pink & Regal Rose card; Magnolia stamp; Kaisercraft paper; K&Co paper; SU Patterned Pack II (hostess only paper); Regal rose ribbon; brads (from Target - don't know the brand); flowers; Kaisercraft rhinestones; Touch & Prismacolor markers; Stampin Up Polka dot background stamp & upsy Daisy sentiment; memento Tuxedo Black ink; SU Chocolate chip

Woodfloor freebie

No pictures today - just yet anyway. Just letting you talented ladies know about the great digi wood floor freebie over at Michelle B's blog aka Just Painting Around . Michelle is very talented and has some great work. So go on over and get your free digi floor and check out Michelle's amazing work.

On another note. I got myself all organized for my first workshop tomorrow. I toiled and toiled over what scrapbooking LO to do and finally came up with one that I really like. Phew. I was stressing - well not stressing but not very impressed with what I came up with previously and I didn't want to demonstrate something that I didn't like myself. I will try and post a photo of the layout later today.

I have my friends surprise birthday party tonight so no cardmaking for me :( Have a couple of challenges that I want to get done but they will have to wait unfortunately. Hope we all have a great weekend.

Stamps and Smiles - Project Tuesday

Good evening. This Double Pocket bag is for Stamps and Smiles Project Tuesday . Gosh what a great little project. I was looking for something to make for my girlfriend who is hosting my first Stampin' Up workshop and it turned out really well and I think she will really like it. Now I just have to find a perfect gift to put inside. Think I will just give her some sugar free lollies (she is on a diet) LOL.

I am all carded out today. I have so many little things running through my head and I just can't get them onto paper tonight. Might give it a miss tomorrow. Sorry...!!!! Never know I might do something during the day when my boys are quiet. Hope you are having a good night.

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Dawny's Sketch #13

As the title says. Papertake weekly Challenge - Dawny's Sketch #13. This was a real challenge. I followed the sketch and didn't add anything extra but found it a little plain so I added more - see below. I made this for my girlfriend. Her sister has organized a surprise birthday party for her. LOL. I know she doesn't read my blog so I am safe there otherwise I would ruin the night. That is kinda why I had to add a few extras to the card.

Feeling very tired as I have been having a few late nights lately so tonight I think it is bed early or at least a reasonable hour. Ha we will see. I got on a roll last night and did a few things for my workshop so happy about that. Okay must go and play with the little miss. She has been dying to go outside.

Have a good one.

Given away to Paula.

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Sketch by Caryn

Another sketch challenge. I am loving them. I feel like I can actually do them. Wasn't very sure I could do it to begin with but thankfully I think I am doing okay with them all. A Spoon Full of sugar - sketch by Caryn .

Here is the sketch. This was a good one. I loved it. I have a birthday card that I need to give to someone this weekend so might be using this sketch to make that too.

The DT at SFOS did a great job and hopefully I am getting better and can consider myself up to scratch with them soon. LOL.

__________________________________________________________________
Okay on another note. I have been - still - racking my brain as to the scrapbooking page I will demonstrate this weekend at my first workshop. Gosh it is hard. Nevermind. I will get there very soon. Still waiting on my Gorjuss Girls stamps - they have been shipped so hoping they arrive today. The Magnolia stamps hopefully will arrive start of next week. Woo hoo.

My little man Tyler woke up in the middle of the night with a horrible cough. Sounds like he has croup. Not again. He thankfully is not really affected by it today but if he does again tonight he is going to have to stay home from daycare tomorrow so I can take him to the doctor. Hopefully it isn't croup. Poor thing.

Okay I am off. LOL. Nah don't smell that bad.

Cloud Tutorial

Don't you just love these little clouds. As I mentioned yesterday I was blog hopping and discovered a video tutorial on how to do clouds and I think it is quite effective. It was from This is my Story. Here is the link to the video tutorial .
sorry it is the same stamped image as yesterday but I had to try out this technique on this little cutie.

Fifth Avenue Floral

I love this set. It is very versatile and you can do a lot of things with it. Too bad Stampin' Up Australia don't have the dry embossing plates like the US as I would buy the matching one for this. I made this as a special thank you to a person who is very inspiring and has been a great mentor to me since I joined Stampin' Up. I hope you like it. Hope you get it today and not look at my blog. LOL.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Been busy busy - getting ready for my first workshop this weekend. I am a little lost when it comes to doing a scrapbooking page. My GF who is the hostess doesn't like the Bold Brights so I have to come up with something special for her as well as design a card for us all to make. Mmmmm.....!!!!!!!!!!!

On another note - hoping my Gorjuss Girls stamp set 2 arrives in the mail today. I am hoping they have sent it already. LOL. Love the stamps and have been hanging for them. Too bad I probably won't be able to use them until after the weekend. I have also got a few orders with Magnolia that I can't wait to receive but apparently they are very very busy so I may not get them until next week. :( I also have a couple of stamps waiting to be sent from Bizzy Bec's. Can't wait. Gosh I am gonna send myself broke. LOL.

Enjoy your day.

Stamp with Fun Challenge #3

Stamp with Fun Challenge 3 - guest designer Marlene has come up with a sketch for us all to follow. Yep you read it right. Another sketch. LOL.
I like this sketch though. Very easy and it fit in well with another card that I made on request by an internet friend. Gosh I think I will be making more cards for other people than for myself (to give away) soon. LOL. At least my supplies are being paid for so can't complain about that. I love making them so.....YKWIM.

I used Dustin Pike digi stamp for this card. I love this stamp. Making memories paper is always great and of course the good old faithful Rose red by SU.

Products used:
Stamp:Dustin Pike fairy digi stamp
Paper/card: SU whisper white & rose red; Making memories
Other: SU rose red ribbon; flower; Kaiser rhinestone; computer for sentiment; kindyglitz and dimensional magic.

Enjoy your day

Dorothy Dorothy. Ain't she just so damn cute. This is the card I made for my eldest sister for her birthday (which isn't until next week but gave to her yesterday). I bought this cute little digi stamp from Greeting Farm a couple of weeks ago and even though my sister doesn't read this blog (I think) I still didn't want to show it to you all. At least I got in early this year. I kinda get into trouble everytime I forget to send a card. Now I have to make a lovely card for one of my good friends for her birthday which is next week too. Phew. Lots and lots of cards.

Okay - ever wondered how people get such great clouds on their cards/images....???? I found the solution last night when I was blogging. Cindy at This is my Story has a great video tutorial on doing clouds. I must say it is a great way of doing clouds and I tried it last night and it worked a treat - so pop on over and have a look.

Sorry can't do products just yet. Have three kids that want stuff. Will be back to edit post and tell you what is on the card.

Given to my sister Bev.

Stampvie Challenge #1 - Sketch

The Stampavie Challenge. Sketch.
Gosh two sketches in two days. I am going to be doing them all the time soon. LOL.
Now this was a big challenge. I only have two Stampavie stamps ATM so I just didn't know what to do. My internet friend was so impressed with the baby card I made for her (so she can give to someone) that she asked me to make two more - one for a baby boy and another baby girl card. So here is the baby boy card. I found it difficult because there is so much blue I think but it worked out okay. I did turn the sketch around as I like it better that way. Hope you like.
__________________________________________________________
Sketch is below.

My sister's BF is the favourite around the house ATM. LOL. The boys absolutely love him - maybe coz he gets out there and runs around with them and draws pictures with them etc etc. Of course they love my sister too but he is getting lots and lots of attention from the boys which is great for him and me - hehehe - as I don't have to entertain as much. LOL.

Off to Lauren's place today (my mothers group friend) for the kids to have a play for her little man's 4th birthday. Coz my sister is here we can't go for lunch but I am sure the kids will love getting out of the house for a little while.

Hope we are enjoying your weekend.

Best Friends

Whilst my sister is in the car on her way here and there is no possible way that she would be able to see this I thought I would show you all. My sister is two years older than me. We are very close - best friends even. I tell her everything. She moved away just over 3yrs ago :( - she was only just around the corner. I miss her heaps. I miss not seeing her everyday. So this is a special something for her.

I have noticed that a lot of cards are made with no background stamps so I thought I would give it a go. It was my second time at masking and it worked really well. I found the trick is to stamp the mask on really thin paper then you don't have gaps in the stamp when you stamp over the mask. Hope that made sense. I like the result - unfortunately I didn't have any grass etc for under her feet so I shaded with some Stampin' Up pastels - can't see very well in the photo. The only issue I had was the tree. When I was coloring it in the Copic marker bled everywhere. It was like I put water in the marker - it just came out. I used my blender pen and got most of it out but as you can see - it is still there.

Have a good day.
Don't know if anyone has been there yet but Magnolia has bought out there Spring - Chasing Butterflies out to purchase online now. Woot woot. More stamps to buy. LOL.

Just Magnolia - Week 1

The first Just Magnolia began today. Congratuations on your first challenge. There is a great prize up for grabs for a randomly chosen person. Give it a go. I thought I would do mine tonight and I am pretty happy with the result. I had to make a baby girl card for one of my internet friends so I made this. I am sure she will love it. It was the first time I had followed a sketch - shock horror. It was actually quite challenging but not at the same time. IYKWIM....!!!!

The inside of the card.

My sister will be here for the weekend as of tomorrow so I don't think I will be getting much card making done unless she feels the need to play along with me. I don't like my chances as she is bringing her boyfriend with her and he will most likely get a little bored if she neglected him. Oh well won't kill me for about a day (she is coming midday tomorrow and leaving about the same time sunday - such a big trip - 4hrs - just to see us for a day).

Stay safe. Take care

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Challenge 47

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Challenge 47 - To Die For
The Challenge needs you to create a card using die cuts or punches. Woo hoo. Means I can use some of my punches that I haven't used in ages.

So here she is. Gotta love Magnolia stamps.
I used a variety of punches on this card. I used a large corner rounder, Stampin' Up scalloped edge punch, Fiskars threading water border punch, Carl flower punches. Wish I had a Spellbinder and some nestabilities but not to be at this stage. Beautiful cards made by others so far already.

Sold to Karen

Yesterday I got my first order of Stampin' Up stuff. So excited. Have yet to make a card as I had a friend ask me to make a couple of cards for her so I have been busy doing that. But I should hopefully have time to do that over the weekend which leaves me time during the week to work out what I will be doing on my workshop on the 26th. Have so many ideas running thru my head - but want to make it simple. Hmmmm any idea would be great. Am loving the Fifth Avenue Floral and the Organic outlines so may have to use those. Okay need to buy some 12x12 card now so I can do a scrapbooking page. Hmmm not making much sense here but just getting my thoughts out there.

A gift for you

Thankfully Katie got my package today with all her stamped images and the above card for her. I have been dying to show this card off for ages. It is the first card I made with Magnolia stamps and my Touch markers. I did a pretty good job if I do say so myself. LOL. I am glad you liked it Katie. Enjoy having a play with all your images. Hope you can make some lovely cards with them all.

Okay on another subject. Does anyone have any Copic markers to give away. LOL. I am so loving what can be done with them but don't have the $$$$ for them ATM. Hmmmm will have to invest. Have to get some funds in the bank. LOL.

Magnolia stamps were purchased at HeavenScent .
